Comedy Break: Breitbart Says Gay, Black Lawmakers Deserved Taunts of "Nigger", "Faggot"

Little Andy Sails Off Edge of Earth; Claims Racist, Homophobic Abuse "Provoked"

Ravi Somaiya writes in Gawker:
Andrew Breitbart watched Tea Partyers call black lawmakers 'nigger' and Barney Frank 'faggot' over the weekend. He was outraged. That the lawmakers had the temerity to provoke a "peaceful" middle-American crowd. The black caucus should be ridiculed, he says... >more

More Teabagger Pussification: Dollar-Bill Tosser Says He's "Sorry", "Scared"

Donation to Local Parkinson's Disease Charity Begins Alleged "Healing Process"; Claims "People Are Hunting For Me"

"Please, don't hurt me!" Chris Reichart of Columbus, Ohio: yet another pussified Teabagger.

Catherine Candinsky reports in the Columbus Dispatch:
The man who berated and tossed dollar bills at a man with Parkinson's disease during a health care protest last week says he is remorseful and scared.

"I snapped. I absolutely snapped and I can't explain it any other way," said Chris Reichert of Victorian Village, in a Dispatch interview.

In his first comments on an incident that went viral across the Internet and was repeatedly played on cable television news shows, Reichert said he is sorry about his confrontation with Robert A. Letcher, 60, of the North Side. Letcher, a former nuclear engineer who suffers from Parkinson's, was verbally attacked as he sat before anti-health care demonstrators in front of Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy's district office last week.

"He's got every right to do what he did and some may say I did too, but what I did was shameful," Reichert said. "I haven't slept since that day."

"I made a donation (to a local Parkinson's disease group) and that starts the healing process."

Earlier this week, Reichert, 40, denied any involvement in a confrontation featured in a Dispatch video that drew an emotional response from viewers across the country.

"I wanted this to go away, but it won't and I'm paying the consequences," Reichert said... >more

Teabaggers At Play

White Powder Mailed to NY Congressman's Office in Wake of Healthcare Vote Determined to be "Not Hazardous"

via WABC-TV, New York City:
New York Police Department field tests have ruled a white powder sent with a threatening letter to the Queens office of Congressman Anthony Weiner is not hazardous.

Workers reported the discovery in the Kew Gardens Road office just before 1:50 p.m.

Nine people in the office were being checked out, although none were reported to be injured.

Police say the letter was handwritten in block letters and made a threat related to Weiner's vote on the sweeping federal health care legislation.

Workers were decontaminated as a precaution. More sophisticated lab testing would also be done to determine the substance.

It was the latest in a string of several threats made against Weiner and apparently linked to the health care vote... >more

Health Care, Immigration and Teabaggers, OH, MY!

Fat, Spoiled, Whiny White Middle-Class Idiots Still Pissed Off That Their Side Was Beaten By A Black Man

Garbage in, garbage out. (foto by Isis)

Lady Liberty's Lamp writes:
This has been quite a weekend to top the ride we have all had since the nomination and election of our first black president.

It’s bad enough our country has been left a mess by past administrations, but now seeing an infantile uprising of those who supported Bush, the war, deregulation of our banks (and so on…) shows that the opposition is not quite done trying to drag our country back to Jim Crow times and into the ground.

First let’s start with the tea baggers. A spoiled, whiny, childish group of over-indulged middle class white people who are angry that their party lost the election– and to a person of color no less!

This has made them ready followers for corporate insurance interests during this much needed overhaul of our health care system. Last night there was a vote and they lost, 220-211. During their “Code Red” rally over the weekend they started to lose it and got desperate with reports of racist and homophobic outbursts at black and gay elected officials on Saturday. But, what would Sunday bring? IMMIGRATION RIGHTS! ...>more

Teabaggers Open Up A Fresh Can Of Crazy

Racist, Homophobic Mob Sails Off Edge Of Earth, Demands Apology From Congressmen Called "Nigger" and "Faggot"

Ravi Somaiya reports on Gawker:
Yesterday a bunch of Tea Party anti-healthcare protesters called black and gay lawmakers 'nigger' and 'faggot'. Today the right-wing blogs want an apology — from the lawmakers, to the protesters.

Glenn Reynolds, at Instapundit, targeted his ire at James Clyburn, the Congressman and veteran of the civil rights movement. (The capitals, inevitably, are his.) "DOES CLYBURN OWE TEA PARTY PROTESTERS AN APOLOGY? The bogus racism card has been played so often that I no longer find such charges very credible. I'm sure, however, that, true or not, they'll be played much more loudly than the indisputably true statements about the antiwar movement."

Conservative blogger Ann Althouse is more magnanimous and forgiving of the lawmakers. She doesn't want them to apologise. But she does feel that "it's outrageous for them to pose as victims without very good cause. So what if some idiot said a bad word...?" >more

Facebookers! Get Virtual Game Cash for Healthcare Reform Astroturfing!

One more reason to stay the hell away from Facebook (as if you needed it):

Don't want to fork over actual cash or start a shady "free" trial in order to get sweet, sweet virtual currency for your favorite game on Facebook or MySpace? Well, you could always take a health care survey that pays you to tell your representatives in Congress how opposed you are to health care reform. Mmm, smell that astroturf! >more

An Andrew Beacham Spectacular!

Hiya, boys and girls; sorry to be gone so long, but have we got a boatload of goodies for you today!

Take a good look at this character shown here: one of our Top Ten Teabaggers, Andrew Beacham, anti-abortion activist with domestic terrorists Operation Rescue, who brought you the assassin of Dr. George Tiller -- at top left, being hauled off by the cops at the University of Maryland during Obama's healthcare speech; at top right, outside Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia on the first day of school last month; and, bottom, at the big Teabaggers' shindig on September 12.

And for a real treat, catch our boy in action in the video below, at a press conference held by Operation Rescue at the National Press Club in Washington back in August. Check him out at 03:50 through 04:36:

And, now, for our piece de resistance, a leaked advance copy of a literary masterwork: The Complete Tweets Of Andrew Beacham. See him brag about infiltrating a Planned Parenthood media training session in May:

# Yesterday, I infiltrated a Planned Parenthood media training lecture. "We are happy with the current healthcare proposal" they said. 12:08 PM Aug 13th from web

Oh, how we trembled here at the offices of TW upon first reading these diamond-hard nuggets of post-post-modern haiku. We just loved how he delivers the news of Planned Parenthood's support for the bill; you can almost imagine the same tone of voice alerting us that the Chinese were going to attack next week.

Download the entire works here as a .pdf, if you dare -- 1.5mb of the noble, fighting, poetic soul of a man in tortured outpourings of 140 characters or less. (Oh, and, Andy? We have the screen shots.)

"Radio Hate" is on the air!

Scary ACORN people are coming to get you!

Mike Flugennock writes and draws at the DC Indymedia Center:
Just so we're on the same page, here: community organizing group ACORN registered large numbers of black voters in Chicago for the last big "election". As is common in many registration campaigns, there's a fair number of wise-asses registering dead peoples' names, or fake names. Also, as is required by law by boards of elections in any US city I've been to, any bogus/invalid registrations are reported, to keep the voter rolls cleared of all the dead people, and all those Luke Skywalkers and Donald Ducks.

So, anyway, outfits like the Drudge Report (has anybody informed that bonehead that the '90s are over?) get hold of this and, in their own predictable, inimitable fashion, proceed to blow this up into some kind of bogus "scandal" and throw it to the rightist k00k crowd like so much fresh, raw meat. Still, you've got to love Drudge, if only because he carries on in the finest shrieking tabloid tradition -- never let the facts get in the way of a good story -- along with providing us all with some good cheap laffs.

Crawling from the wreckage, no. 3

Well, look who's back! It's our new Special Friend, Tim Jones, the man who hectored, harassed and hurled accusations of ACORN membership (as if it were a bad thing) at a small group of black youths attempting to practice a little Free Enterprise by selling little plastic Gadsden Flags to the knuckle-dragging mob of rightist nutcakes gathered at the big Teabaggers' shindig back a couple of weeks ago. Here he is, speaking from his top-secret compound at "an undisclosed location in Florida", attempting to justify his behavior in his own inimitable, rambling, mumbly, mealy-mouthed fashion and asking for a face-to-face with journalist Daryle Lamont Jenkins of One Peoples' Project:

Crawling from the wreckage, no.2

"You've Got The Wrong Symbol, Boy!" Video of Man Calling Street Vendors "ACORN" As He Hounds Them Out Of "Tea Party" Rally Raises Questions

Daryle Lamont Jenkins writes at One Peoples' Project:

On the face of it, it's a video of a white man harassing a group of black kids out of a rally many feel had racist leanings. But the man says that the kids were from ACORN, a group he says is especially hostile to the agenda of the Sept. 12 "Tea Party" in Washington, DC. And he, Tim Jones, was someone who didn't want people from ACORN trying to disrupt or in this case selling flags to the assembled to raise money for their group, so he took it upon himself to make them leave. But then we add to this the fact that ACORN says they never sent anyone to the "Tea Party" rally, and in fact aren't in the business of sending people out there as vendors. This is a concern that has been raised over the past week, but Jones doesn't feel inclined to defend himself or for that matter make all that much of a presence since the video came out, and the person who shot the video is being dodgy trying to cry about our link to Max Blumenthal and telling us to "piss off". So with the credibility of both the cameraman and Jones himself in question, we have to assume with no other evidence saying otherwise, that these kids were not part of ACORN. And if we take that particular item out of the equation, what are we left with? A video of a lying white man harassing a group of black kids out of a rally many feel had racist leanings. Read on...

Attention, Teabaggers: There Will Not -- Repeat, NOT Be A Counter-Action at the Rally in Morristown, NJ on Labor Day

Daryle Lamont Jenkins writes at One Peoples' Project:

On Labor Day, there is a tea party planned in Morristown, NJ that will feature two radio show hosts that we have profiled here, Bob “I don’t have any problem with the National Alliance” Grant, and Steve “I don’t know any white racists in New York City” Malzberg. Now there has been some people who have questioned their involvement given how much these two characters over the years like to routinely pick fights with black people (don’t ask them about that; they will pretend they don’t know what you are talking about). Well, we contacted one of the organizers, Maryann Franzese and left a message on her machine and via email regarding this. She never responded. In fact, the next time we heard from her it was on Friday. She called Malzberg’s radio show on WOR-AM in New York to complain about us and someone who attended the meeting that concerned her – and apparently Steve since he cut her off before she got into the details of that concern, like how the man brought up when Steve once suggested that police break up a protest of black Rutgers students using their guns and hoses...

There will -- repeat WILL be, however, a new offering of t-shirts bearing the now-infamous "Teabagger" cartoon for sale over at Mike Flugennock's Cartoon Schwag Shop.

Teabaggers Piss Selves, Are Shocked -- Shocked -- To See Selves Revealed As Racists

As could be expected, our publicity campaign outside the recent suburban Virginia healthcare "town hall" generated some wonderful feedback from our local defenders of liberty, many of whom -- despite extensive university education in some cases -- apparently still don't know Democrats from Leftists from Socialism, judging by the reactions to the leafletting of the parking lot outside South Lakes High with this cartoon by DC linester Mike Flugennock:

Now, opponents of socialized medicine and the Obama agenda are being depicted as Ku Klux Klan members who want to lynch Barack Obama.

This obviously isn't coming from our side. We're the sane ones in this debate.

The crazier and more insane the left gets, the better we look. Who would want to put these lunatics in charge of their health care?

The other Democrat Representative in this area, Gerry Connolly, has yet to criticize Moran over anything whether it's whoring in the moonlight, harrassing children, beating his wife, or now calling critics of Obama care "KKK" types.

People have this mistaken idea that Connolly (pronounced "cannoli" and he looks like he's had plenty of 'em) is a decent man. He's not if he's going to buy into this stuff.

The racist card is getting old and will cause a backlash.

This is the work of the democrat politicians. I hope they're smart enough (which I doubt) to see what they've done to this country and try to fix it before it gets too late.

We can't fix the racial divide in the U.S., because the racism isn't coming from our side. It's out of our hands.

Yes, folks, you heard right; "Democratic Party member = Leftist"? Or, do they mean "Leftist = Democratic Party member"? Seriously, these people think that people in the Democratic Party are "Leftists" just by being Democrats! Hell, they actually think that this cartoon was paid for by the Democratic Party, specifically Virginia Democratic Rep. Jim Moran! Pardon us while we laugh until we crap our drawers.

That's right, we're talking about a statement of plain raw truth -- about as raw as anyone can stand it -- and the Teabaggers think it was perpetrated by a lame-assed, standard-issue corporate Democrat like Jim Moran, who probably wouldn't even be able to summon up the balls to take his own side in a barfight. Being offended by your own reflection in the mirror is one thing, but to attempt to pin the rap for this cartoon on a butterball outfit like the Democratic Party? Oh, how we laughed around the office here at TTAC.

Anyway, on to what is apparently the original source of this brouhaha, and who all the other Teagging blogs are cribbing their copy from, Marooned in Marin:

A number of people left last night's polite and information-packed "town hall" meeting in Reston to find these stuffed under their car windshields. We've cropped out the URL at the bottom to avoid giving these folks any more attention than they deserve.

Wounded, we are, absolutely wounded, to think they'd crop our URL from our inline image, after all those people probably took copies home and typed in the URL on their own. But, really -- polite? information-packed? We suspect MinM may have accidentally accelerated his Z4 to a South Lakes High in an alternate universe; the healthcare Town Hall we attended featured some long-winded busting of some of the more egregious myths about Obamacare before Jim Moran finally shut his cakehole and brought on Dean so we could get on with the mayhem. But, anyway, on to our favorite comments from the MinM thread:

As we said, some of these people have an actual university education; hell, this guy even knows a snatch of Russian -- learned no doubt under deep cover at a listening post in Kiev back in '62. Never mind that Stephen Hawking here promptly tries to drag Bill Ayers into it -- c'mon, that's so Last October -- and then pin it on a bunch of broken-down old Stalinists, like ANSWER. Thanks for playing; here's a copy of our home game. So, Bob, who's our next contestant...?

Here's the funny thing about this... the URL that was on these flyers is actually for a blog that's critical of the teabaggers, and that has explored, among other things, how they're being cynically manipulated by business interests. It posted the picture presumably to embarrass these folks.

Which begs a question: Did the racist clowns who put these on people's windshields in Reston the other night purposefully add the URL of that blog to discredit it, or were they just too jacked up to notice?

August 26, 2009 11:22 PM

Please, please, please, Mr. Golf Cart Drivin' Guy...if the URL to this blog is there to embarass us, then why the hell did we lead off our first post with it -- and use in our masthead, f'cryinoutloud? Also, it is important to note that we at the offices of TTAC do not get -- as you say -- jacked up. High, buzzed, chillin', mellow, laid-back, feelin' right, perhaps, but never, ever "jacked up".

TOWN HELL: Crass Mob Heckles Rabbi, Shouts Down Dean at Health Care "Town Hall" in Reston, VA

Randall Terry Opens "Don't Kill Grandma Tour" to Raves; LaRouchies Push "Obama Is Hitler" Meme

Video edited by Mike Flugennock and photographed by The Town Hell Posse.
Still photography by Isis, via Flickr.

"Nick" writes at the DC Independent Media Center:

On the evening of August 25, 2009, thousands of Virginians attended a town hall meeting on federal health care reform in Reston, Virginia.

The event was held at South Lakes High School and featured Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) and former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean.

While the majority of attendees at the facility were explicit supporters of health care reform, numerous right-wing individuals disrupted the event.

In one instance, a right-winger punched an Obama supporter in the face without provocation. The right-winger was subsequently pushed away from the area by several individuals and Fairfax County Police later evicted him from the property.

The man was wearing a CATO Institute t-shirt. The institution is a libertarian think tank based in Washington, D.C.

In another incident, several conservative military veterans surrounded an elderly man and physically intimidated him in an attempt to censor the man who supported health care reform.

Countless conservatives held signs of President Obama that prominently featured the president's face with a mustache painted under his nose meant to resemble former German dictator Adolf Hitler.

Others held signs that portrayed President Obama as the cartoon character The Joker. The images of Obama as The Joker resembled old minstrel shows whereby actors of European descent applied facial makeup in a mocking attempt to resemble individuals of African descent.

Several conservative supporters of status quo health care flew "Don't Tread on Me" flags and attempted to silence anyone who "does not support freedom," has "socialist" tendencies or did not serve in the U.S. Military.

Before the town hall meeting began conservative pro-life activist Randall Terry mocked "baby-killing" by stabbing play dolls and pretended to assassinate a woman resembling a "grandma." Terry protested Obama's health care reform legislation and called it "baby killing and grandma killing."

Terry told a local reporter "there's no way to pay for [Obama's health care reform] without killing granny."

The prominent activist and his supporters later interrupted former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean's speech only to be chased out by local Virginians.

Several right-wing activists held signs that read "Obama Lies, Grandma Dies." When questioned about the signs several right-wing activists replied by warning of "socialism" and "death panels."

Several local media outlets described the event as turning into "near chaos" as supporters and opponents clashed inside and outside the high school.

Hecklers Unite! Why Aren't Progressives Disrupting ObamaCare Town Halls?

We really love CounterPunch here -- especially Dave Lindorff. In his latest column at CounterPunch, he raises an important question that we've been asking ourselves, and which the Left should also be asking, instead of pissing and moaning about how the rightist nutcakes are taking over the healthcare "town hall" events:

Many progressives are getting all bent out of shape over the "brown shirt" rabble organized by health industry PR firms to disrupt the so-called "town meetings" being organized all over the country by Democratic members of Congress.

What they are conveniently forgetting is that these are not really "town meetings" at all, at least in the sense of the town meetings I grew up with, and started out covering as a young journalist in Connecticut--that is, meetings called and run democratically, with leaders elected from the floor, open to all residents of a community.

These "town meetings" are really nothing but propaganda sessions run by members of Congress who are trying to burnish their fraudulent credentials as public servants, and trying to perpetrate a huge fraud of a health care bill that purports to be a progressive "reform" of the US health care system, but that actually further entrenches the control of that system by the insurance industry, and to a lesser extent, the hospital and drug industry.

ObamaCare is to health reform what bank bailouts are to financial system reform, which is to say it is the opposite of what its name implies.

The right-wing nuts who cry that ObamaCare is introducing euthanasia for the elderly and infirm, or that it is socialism, are ignorant wackos, to be sure, but they are right about one thing: Americans are about to be royally screwed on health care reform by the president and the Democratic Congress, just as they've been screwed by them on financial system "reform."

The appropriate response to this screw-job is the one the right has adopted: shut these sham "town meetings" down, and run the sell-out politicians out of town on a rail, preferably coated in tar and feathers they way the snake-oil salesmen of old used to be handled!

Check out the rest of Dave's excellent article here.

Welcome, One and All!

Welcome, folks, to the Entirely Unofficial Blog dedicated to following the organizing of the upcoming September 12 Teabaggers' March On Washington. Here, for your downloading and wheatpasting pleasure, is the Entirely Unofficial Teabagger Welcome Poster created by famed Washington, DC Indymedia cartoonist Mike Flugennock:

The July 4th Teabaggers' Shindig on Capitol Hill covered at Lady Liberty's Lamp has certainly left us inspired, to say the least. Never did we hear a gang of astroturfers yell more loudly about not being astroturfers even as they were funded by PACs run by characters like Dick Armey, and never did we hear more yelling from a group about how they aren't about Left or Right, even while they never missed an opportunity to slag on the Left -- or even on ordinary Liberals, for that matter -- as the lot it was our fortune to cover this past Fourth Of July:

What got us even more was their total ignorance of the causes and effects of events that happened before January 20, 2009 -- forgetting, for instance, that the current corporate bailout fiasco was initiated by George W. Bush (foto by Isis, at Lady Liberty's Lamp).

Listening to the howls from the stage and checking out the composition of the crowd, it was as if the single reaction from the Teabagger Massmind boiled down to "OMFG, the President is a N1GG3R!" -- like the old-timer in Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles, hollering from the top of the church steeple, "Here comes the new sheriff, and he's a big..." ...and it sure as hell didn't help any as their event was organized and staged by members of a well-known White Power band, Pokerface (foto by Isis, at Lady Liberty's Lamp).

So, once again, welcome one and all, and here's hoping -- jeezus, there's that word "hope" again -- that some of you enterprising anarchists and antifascists out there will take this information and run with it, and organize a rousing welcoming committee for our "libertarian" (spit) friends heading for Washington, DC on September 12, 2009!

Yer pal, The Teabagger Watcher, and the gang here at The Teabaggers Are Coming!

(...and for the further lowdown, there's reports on the July 4th Capitol Hill Teabaggers' rally here, and on "Poison Ivy In The Astroturf" -- including video, here.)
