CNN's Anderson Cooper Pwns Arizona "Birther" State Legislator
What is it with state legislatures these days, anyway? Are they engaged in some kind of competition to see who can propose the st00pidest legislation?

American Nazi David Duke Defends Tea Party "Whiteness"
Yes, David Duke is praising and defending the “whiteness” of the Teabagger movement!
We can’t even make up stuff this funny!
This pretty much proves the who and what the tea baggers are, and admittedly so by Mr. Nazi himself: David Duke

ALARM AND BLUSTER: Your April 19 DC Gun Nut Video Roundup
The Town Hell Posse reports from the DC Independent Media Center:
Y'know, we almost had to feel sorry for these doorknobs, working their poor asses off trying to spin attention away from Timothy McVeigh by invoking the Battle Of Lexington, Oklahoma City, Waco, and the big daddy of 'em all: the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. We just love how these wastes of DNA try to divert us from the destruction of the Murrah Building by someone who was just like them by bringing up Warsaw. It's such ham-handed, Babe Ruth League quality spin-doctoring, too, that you just can't help but feel sorry for their ignorant asses.
They slammed the crazy pedal to the floor and never looked back when Chicago rightist talk-radio howler Erich "Mancow" Muller hit the stage and promptly started wailing about Obama's "problem with god" and about how Haiti was founded on voodoo and Satanism and didn't let up until the scene hit the Virginia suburbs, first at Fort Hunt Park and later at Gravelly Point, as close as Virgina gets to DC -- and also directly under the flight path of National Airport. Oh, the hilarity.Download video as mpeg4 file, 23.4mb

DC Tax Day Tea Party: "Don't Look, Ethel!"
Mike Flugennock writes at the Washington DC Independent Media Center:
I came away yesterday evening feeling somehow disppointed; sure, there were the obligatory birthers, flat-taxers and other assorted nutbars, and yes, there was the obligatory smattering of amusingly misspelled signs, but somehow -- yesterday's crowd just wasn't as flat-out batshit as I was hoping and expecting. Michelle Bachman was her usual shrieking, shallow, ingnorant self, yet she vomited none of the off-the-hook weird statements that endear her to me; Andrew Breitbart exhibited his usual over-the-edge delivery, but neither of them seemed to really bring the crazy yesterday.
They hated socialism, yet most of them looked old enough to be on Social Security and Medicare. They hated corporations, they loved capitalism. They hated the expansion of government power into their lives, they loved the expansion of government power into Iraq and Afghanistan. They hated Saul Alinsky -- and they loved Saul Alinsky. Go figure.
Speakers galore shuffled across the stage -- so many speakers, in fact, that it almost seemed like a right-wing version of an ANSWER rally, only with music. And, oh, what music. Almost without exception, every musical performer worked to the accompaniment of a pre-recorded instrumental backup track instead of a live backup band. Ray Stevens, late-60s Jesus-rock star famous for his '70s novelty hit "The Streak", proffered a sappy, cloying love song to the military which pegged my Smarmometer™ so hard that it damn' near broke the needle off. Former Saturday Night Live fixture Victoria Jackson, who dropped out of SNL in the '90s to pursue a career as a born-again Christian nutcake, cemented her position as Stupidest SNL Cast Member Ever with "There's A Communist Living In The White House", a song featuring a tedious guilt-by-association litany of the "communists" in Barack Obama's life which, to her and all assembled, proved that the DLC corporate centrist hack currently in the Oval Office is, in fact, a dangerous Marxist.
Then, at long last, came the man I waited all evening to hear from -- Little Andy Breitbart. He only seemed to go through the motions last night, with his prerequisite loony attitude, but there just wasn't enough of the Breitbart zaniness that guarantees a full-tilt steaming-ears meltdown. This could be due to the fact that it was a "friendly" crowd without the possibility of his being confronted with any inconvenient truths, thus precluding any chance of Breitbart going over the edge. Most of his evening's rantings were spent making excuses for Clarence Thomas and bitching about MSNBC and "union thugs" -- in other words, a standard-issue rap which had none of the brilliance of his ravings at the recent CPAC conference in March. More's the pity.

Crash the Tea Parties!
Who: FreedomWorks Foundation
What: April 15th, 2010 Tax Day Tea Party in Washington, DC
When: April 15th, evening, (tentatively 6:00pm to 9:30pm)
Where: The Washington Monument grounds
The following call to action comes to us via Infoshop News:
On April 15th thousands of right-wingers will attend rallies in cities and towns across the United States. The organizers of this nationwide day of protest call it a tea party. This tea party movement that emerged only a year ago is a coalition of conservatives, anti-Semites, fascists, libertarians, racists, constitutionalists, militia men, gun freaks, homophobes, Ron Paul supporters, Alex Jones conspiracy types and American flag wavers. If the tea party movement continues to grow in size and strength there is a big chance they will dominate this country in the near future. If the tea party movement takes over this country they will really hurt poor people by getting rid of social programs like food stamps, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, student aid, free health care, etc. The tea party movement will say these programs must be gotten rid of because hard-working taxpayers cannot afford to pay for these things especially when the economy is in a depression. There are three options we have with the tea party movement:
1. Organize counter-protests against the tea party demonstrations, same time, same place. This is probably the best option. We need to get in the streets on April 15th and show the tea party movement that there are lots of people out there who oppose their agenda.
2. Get individual tea party protesters to leave the right-wing and move to the left politically. That would involve passing out stuff like this at the tea party demonstrations: http://www.anarchist-studies.org/node/299
3. Ignore the tea party movement. This is the worst option because without anyone opposing them they could easily gain power.

Tea Party Candidates Are All Welfare Queens
David Weigel writes in the Washington Post:
Last week, Amy Gardner reported on the Tea Party flak faced by Tennessee congressional candidate Stephen Fincher over the roughly $200,000 per year he receives in federal farm subsidies.
The size of Fincher's subsidies put him in a class of his own, but he's not alone in receiving such subsidies. According to USDA records downloaded by the Environmental Working Group, Indiana State Sen. Marlin Stutzman, who is running for the state's open U.S. Senate seat, received a total of $156,907.54 in subsidies from 1997 to 2006. During the last year for which we have records, he got $13,630 in subsidies.
Stutzman, who co-owns a farm and fully owns a farm trucking company, was elected to Indiana's legislature in 2002 and has built some national support among conservatives looking for another rising star. On his campaign site, Stutzman trumpets the support of RedState's Erick Erickson and some kind words from Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).
But the subsidies issue has dogged Stutzman as he courts the support of Tea Party activists... >more

At Last, A Little Good News: South African White Supremacist Leader Beaten To Death
via the BBC:
South African white supremacist leader Eugene Terreblanche has been killed on his farm in the country's north-west.
Mr Terreblanche, 69, was beaten to death after a dispute over unpaid wages, local media reports said. Two people are said to have been arrested.
President Jacob Zuma has appealed for calm, saying the killing should not incite racial hatred.
Mr Terreblanche, who campaigned for a separate white homeland, came to prominence in the early 1980s.
He became the champion of a tiny minority determined to stop the process that was bringing apartheid to an end... >more
White Power "House Band" Connected to Hutaree Militia
Lady Liberty's Lamp writes:
Back in July there was a Tea Bagger shindig in Upper Senate Park...
At this event was a band called POKERFACE who provided the sound system, security and entertainment.
Well, it appears that Pokerface also has a strong connection to the Hutaree militia who were just arrested for plotting a domestic terrorist attack on the local law enforcement.
Pokerface has more of a past with Hutaree than they’re letting on, going so far as to issue the following statement on their site:
“At the present time, Poker Face has no comment on the situation developing/unfolding with the Hutaree folks. But given the governments track record against we the free, it makes us suspect government motives first, not the Hutaree…We pray that cooler heads prevail, and we are talking about ALL sides.”
